Warwick Castle Unlocks Brand New Attractions

April 23, 2013

,

If you’re planning a visit to Warwick Castle, you’re in for an extra-special treat, as two exciting new attractions have recently opened up!

Horrible Histories Foul Fayres

The Horrible Histories Foul Fayres will be taking place at the Castle, to celebrate 20 years of the hit children’s books!

The funniest and foulest moments from history are brought to life with five interactive areas around the Castle.

There’ll be various shows, games and characters for all the family to enjoy, from Vicious Vikings to Terrible Tudors and the Measly Middle Ages – it’s history with the nasty bits left in!

The Foul Fayres are taking place on:

  • Wicked Whitsun – 25th May to 2nd June
  • Stormin’ Summer – 20th July to 1st September

Warwick Castle UNLOCKED!

Four ancient rooms are being opened for the first time, unlocking defining chapters in Warwick Castle’s history:

Barbican Battlements – The 14th Century

Built to protect the entrance to the Castle, you’ll be able to see and smell this ancient room readied for mediaeval battle.

Bear Tower – The 15th Century:

In heraldry, a bear represents courage – but are you brave enough to venture into the never-seen-before tower with its recently unearthed bear pit?

Watergate Tower – The 16th Century:

Few people in living memory have ventured inside this tower, not least because it’s said to be haunted by the ghost of Sir Fulke Greville, victim of a gruesome murder.

Guards’ Room – The 17th Century:

This room at the top of Guy’s Tower was remodelled to fire cannons rather than arrows. Now you can experience the living conditions endured by the guards as they awaited attack.

Both attractions are included at no extra cost when you book Warwick Castle tickets!
