Visiting Buckingham Palace & Other Royal Attractions
The past week saw the 60th Anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation. If the celebrations have got you feeling all patriotic, why not see first-hand the places where all the Royal magic happens?
This summer you can visit Buckingham Palace, meet the Royal horses, see some of the Queen’s own jewellery and loads more on one of these Royal tours:
Take a peek inside the royal residence itself on this tour of the Buckingham Palace State Rooms! While The Queen makes her annual visit to Scotland, the Palace’s 19 state rooms are open for visitors to get a glimpse behind-the-scenes into the lives of the Royals.
The largest and oldest occupied castle in the world, and one of Her Majesty’s official residences. Highlights of a visit include St George’s Chapel and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House.
This palace is The Queen’s official residence in Scotland, situated at the end of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. It’s best known as the home of Mary, Queen of Scots, and as the setting for many of the dramatic episodes in her turbulent reign.
Here you can view items from the Royal Collection – art and treasures held by the Queen. Currently on display is In Fine Style: The Art of Tudor and Stuart Fashion, exploring the sumptuous costume of British monarchs in the 16th and 17th centuries.
On this tour you’ll get to see the state vehicles used for coronations and royal weddings, including the Gold Coach used during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. You’ll also get to meet the working horses who play an important role in the Queen’s official and ceremonial duties.
Have a great time on your “Royal Visit”!
