PortAventura to Build Europe’s Highest Rollercoaster
PortAventura has announced that it has plans to build a monumental rollercoaster in 2012. In fact it’s so monumental it will be Europe’s tallest.
Shambhala: Expedicion Al Himalaya is the name of this new thrill ride and will reach a height of 250ft, featuring a drop of 255ft reaching almost 84mph! This latest addition to PortAventura is inspired from the tallest mountain range, the Himalayas and with good reason too.
The steel sit-down rollercoaster will cost 25 million Euros to construct and can seat 32 passengers, making it a true giant in the rollercoaster world. Plans are set to build Shambhala: Expedicion Al Himalaya behind Dragon Khan and will be distinguishable by its icy blue colour.
Even the concept art looks terrifying!
All of us thrill seekers can’t wait for this latest rollercoaster to open and will be keeping our eyes open for more news to come. If you can’t wait to ride Shambhala: Expedicion Al Himalaya, then you can get your very own PortAventura tickets for 2012 right here at AttractionTix.
