A Day Out At Warwick Castle
You may remember our blog post a few days ago about activities for the Bank Holiday, one of which was visiting Warwick Castle.
One of our team members was lucky enough to have a day out with the family at Warwick Castle over the bank holiday and took some brilliant pictures of the experience.
The view of the castle exterior is something to behold as you walk up to the main gate. You can really get a feel for how the castle was hundreds of years ago.
As you walk into the castle you will be greeted by the courtyard where you will get to meet different medieval characters and take part in activities such as archery.
Speaking of archery, check this guy out. An Archer gives a demonstration on how to fire a bow and arrow. It’s not as easy as it looks though!
Just outside the main walls of the castle you will be able to see a bird of prey demonstration. These magnificent birds were used to help nobles hunt and you will be able to see for yourself how they were used.
You might also be lucky enough see a jousting competition as knights ride against each other to knock their opponents off their horse, which was a popular sport in medieval Britain.
You will even be able to get up close to the armour worn by Warwick Castle’s knights!
For an awe-inspiring event, check out Warwick Castle working trebuchet demonstration as soldiers prepare it to launch projectiles. This formidable machine was a used in sieges during an attack.
Well, that’s the day wrapped up. If only we had one of these back at the office!
