St Andrews and the Kingdom of Fife

Start this tour with an amazing snapshot of the Forth Railway Bridge. Built in 1890, its beautiful red swirls have made it one of the most recognisable bridges in the world.

Your first stop is the ancient Dunfermline Abbey, still in use today, where the Scottish King Robert the Bruce is buried. His golden tomb is in the heart of the abbey, and you can also wander the ruins and the grounds.

Try the best fish and chips in Scotland when you stop by Anstruther, a historic fishing village, or spend time browsing the exhibits at the Fisheries Museum before hopping back on the coach to visit St. Andrew’s for approximately 2.5 hours. You can run across the beach from Chariots of Fire, or admire it from afar in bad weather. Explorers will love the 16^th century secret tunnels below the palace.

St. Andrew’s is also famous for its golfing history; sports fans will enjoy the Golf Museum, the Links Course, the grave of Tom Morris or stroll along Grannie Clark’s Wynd, a public right of way, that cuts across the famous golf course.
