Hop On Hop Off Barcelona - City Sightseeing is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to see the city I’d never been to Barcelona before and was recommended to do the hop-on hop-off bus tour as this is one of the easiest ways to see the city sights in a short amount of time. You can start the tour at any of the stops along the route. Our hotel was around a 10 minute walk from the Sagrada Familia, so we decided to hop on there. We handed over our paper voucher to the conductor and she exchanged it for our ‘official’ bus tickets, plus a map, discount voucher booklet and some headphones to listen to the audio guide. Placa de Catalunya is the main “centre” of Barcelona, where you’ll find lots of shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend taking the Blue Route to Park Güell for some amazing views of the city. If the weather’s nice then take the Red Route to Port Olympic for the beach!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect way to see Barcelona Bought 2-day tickets to see Barcelona. The place to exchange them for actual tickets was easy to find and staff all very helpful. Buses ran from early in the day until mid-evening but all well signposted at the different stops. Stopped at all the James to see and the running commentary definitely gave a feel for a fantastic city. Only criticism, shaded seating on the top deck varied from bus to bus and too hot to sit inside! Thoroughly recommended!!!! If

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soooo useful for a weekend break This is a great way to get around Barcelona, especially if you’ve never visited the city before (or if you just have a generally rubbish sense of direction like myself!) Because I was with 3 other family members it prevented loads of arguments about how to get to different places and where to go next – the bus dropped us off at all the places and sights we wanted to see. It also saves you having to figure out the local transport (not always worth it if you’re only there for a couple of days) or worrying about how much a taxi will cost. TIP: The open-top deck is lovely in nice weather but hold onto your hat – my dad’s cap blew off into the street below and he had to buy a new one :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Barcelona with a view! I have done many hop on hop off tours all over the world however, this was by far one of the best. I never had to wait long for the next bus and the commentary was actually really interesting, I don't usually listen to it much. I highly recommend the red route as this takes you up to Montjuic and the Olympic area... the greenery of Montjuic makes you feel a million miles away from the bustling city down below and you can hop off and take the cable car up to the top of Montjuic. We didn't have time to do the cable car but will definitely do it next time as the views are supposed to be incredible. We did however get off at the MNAC in Montjuic and WOW... the views from there were absolutely stunning! It's an impressive building with beautiful water features in the grounds and views all across the city... not to be missed. The tour ran until around 7/8pm so there was no need to rush our sightseeing and we really made the most of it. We didn't do much of the blue route as we were more interested in seeing things on the red route but what we did do of it was really good, especially as it takes you to the amazing Sagrada Familie which is so impressive. I'd recommend getting the 2 day ticket as well as it offers much better value for money... I'm glad we bought in advance as well as there were quite long queues at times, especially at Plaza de Catalunya if you didn't already have a ticket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Way to Explore Barcelona We always buy the Hop On Hop Off tickets when we do a city break and in Barcelona it was even better than usual. Made getting around a piece of cake and covered every sight we wanted to see and many more we didn't know about. The tickets we got through AttractionTix were approximately 20% cheaper than buying from the street stand. You have to exchange the voucher at the Tourist Info booths which are right on the main square (Placa de Catalunya) or at the Train Station Barcelona Sants. You then are given headphones, a guide and map as well as a shopping discounts book as you board (These buses are mainly branded Barcelona Turistic and are literally everywhere). There is audio commentary in loads of languages which tell you about the sights as you travel around. The stops are pretty frequent (the longest between two is 10 mins) and you can get off and back on as many times as you like, as frequently as you like. Sometimes we'd disembark at one and board further down the route. In Barcelona there are 3 routes. The Red Route covers the South including the Ports, the Zoo, The Gothic Quarter and joins the Green route which isn't essential and covers mainly the Beaches. The Blue route is the North and goes through most of the key Gaudi sites including the Sagrada Familia and Casa Battlo as well as the Nou Camp. The switch between the routes is the Placa de Catalunya where you can get to all the main shopping areas and La Rambla which is best for a night out.
