Luxor by Air from Sharm El Sheikh – Full Details

You’ll be collected from your hotel by saloon car, minibus or coach, (depending on the group size) for the trip to the airport.

Your qualified Egyptologist guide will escort you to the airport for the 45-minute flight to Luxor, and assist you with the check-in procedures.

Arriving in Luxor, you’ll journey from the East Bank to the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings. Ancient Egyptians believed that the sun disappeared into the underworld when it set in the west, which is why these tombs are located on the West Bank of the Nile.

The Valley of the Kings contains the tombs of many Pharaoh’s including those of King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tutankhamen, King Ramses VI, King Meneptah and Amenhotep II.

Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only Pharanonic woman to rule over Ancient Egypt and daughter of Tutmosis I.

See the Colossi of Memnon– the two huge and magnificent statues all that remain of a temple façade which was under restoration before being destroyed by an earthquake.

With the Nile, mountains and farming land as a stunningly beautiful backdrop, this is the perfect spot to take some memorable photographs.

You’ll journey back to the East Bank in Luxor for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your tour with a visit to Karnak Temples.

Dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu, these temples remain some of the finest examples of Ancient Egyptian religious sites in the world.

Your last visit of the day is at the Temple of Luxor. Begun by Amenhotep III in 18th Dynasty, this wonderful structure was completed by Ramses II during the 19th Dynasty.

Finally, it’s back to Luxor airport for the return flight and transport to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.
