3 Reasons Every Tourist needs the GO Los Angeles Card
The City of Angels, home to Hollywood stars, and the entertainment capital of the world. These are just a few ways to describe Los Angeles. If you’re visiting LA for the first time or revisiting your favourite spots, planning ahead to get the most out of your trip is essential.
Whether you’re traveling here for a weekend break or seven days of fun, the GO Los Angeles Card gives you access to over 35 must-see attractions around the city at one set price. The most impressive aspect of the GO Card has to be the variety it offers to tourists, who can pick and choose what they want to see.
Reason #1: You can see the stars!
Spend just a few hours in Los Angeles and you’ll quickly find that almost everything you come across has probably been featured in your favourite TV show or movie! The GO Los Angeles Card will let you dive deeper into Hollywood and tour famous studios such as Sony Pictures, Paramount, and Warner Bros.
If that doesn’t satisfy your star craving, you can head on over to the Dolby Theatre, formerly known as the Kodak Theatre, where the Academy Awards are held every year. Down the street you’ll even find Madame Tussauds Museum where you can proudly pose with an almost-too-realistic wax version of your favourite celebrity. That is, if you haven’t already spotted a real celeb driving down Hollywood Boulevard…..
Reason #2: You can soak up some culture
There’s more to life in Los Angeles than Hollywood and movie stars. If you’re a museum-goer and need a break from the sunshine, you’ll be happy to know that the GO Los Angeles Card includes entry into several museums in and around the city.
Fans of modern art should stop by MOCA, The Museum of Contemporary Art, which actually has three different locations throughout Los Angeles. If you’re traveling with kids, the California Science Center is extremely interactive and fun for the whole family. NASA’s famous Space Shuttle Endeavour now resides at the Science Center and is an absolute must-see when visiting LA.
Reason #3: You can break out of the city!
The GO Los Angeles Card does not limit you to attractions just within the City of Angels. If you need a bit of a break from city life, the Huntington Library in Pasadena provides a perfect escape without being more than an hour’s drive from downtown Los Angeles. Here you’ll find an extensive art collection with paintings, furniture and sculptures dating as far back as the 17th century. Their botanical gardens are wonderful too, and with the fabulous weather year round, there really isn’t a bad time to visit.
A visit to sunny California just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the beach! Newport Beach is worth the 90-minute drive outside of L.A. Two words: whale watching. Not only will a whale-watching cruise allow you to get up close and personal with the Pacific Ocean’s most fascinating creatures, you’ll also get to experience the laid-back beach life that California is famous for. Just make sure to give yourself enough time to sunbathe on the sand and take several pictures of palm trees!
Hollywood tours, museum hopping, and day trips to the beach are just a few experiences you can get with the GO Los Angeles Card. There really is something for everyone and in my opinion, no tourist should be without it!
