Getting Around in Hurghada

Bus
  • The main form of public transport in Hurghada is minibuses which travel up and down the coast along the Red Sea.
  • The minibuses are cheap, with fixed prices and can be flagged down anywhere along their route.
Taxi
  • Taxis in Hurghada are un-metered, so it’s recommended to agree a price with the driver before getting in.
  • If you’re not sure how much a journey should cost, it’s a good idea to ask at your hotel.
  • Taxis are used less frequently, mainly because minibuses are so easy to use and cheaper. However, many holidaymakers prefer the convenience of a taxi.
Car
  • Travelling around by car is very pleasant, as Hurghada has some of the best roads in Egypt.
