Children under 5 go free! However if you are bringing a child under 5, please let the tour guide know by calling the number provided on your e-ticket at least 24 hours prior to your tour.

The following areas on Alcatraz Island are wheelchair accessible: Alcatraz Dock Area, Prison Building Main Floor, All Bookstores, Museum Displays, and the Island Theater.

Please be aware that Alcatraz Island is steep and hilly. An electric shuttle is available for visitors unable to climb the hill, which runs on a regular schedule each day. Please note that families with small children and strollers cannot use the electric shuttle and seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.
