Embark from beautiful Dubrovnik to the black mountain; the country of Montenegro. This place has a busy history and your guide will tell you of the kingdom’s monarchs, who reigned for only 8 years before being forced into exile.

You’ll see the only Montenegrin fjord, which looks like it belongs in Norway rather than the Mediterranean! You’ll also be able to take in Kotor, one of the most ancient towns in the Med, which used to compete for trade with Venice back in the 14^th century.

The jewel in Montenegro’s crown is Our Lady of the Rocks, with a Roman Catholic church that takes up almost the whole islet. There are over 60 paintings in here by Tripo Kokolja, a famed 17^th-century artist, and a tapestry that has survived since the 1800s; the artist used fine gold and silver thread, silk, and even her own hair to create it.
