Taking the cable car up Mount Teide is a major must-do in Tenerife, and one of the most spectacular trips you can take anywhere in Spain!
There’s no other place in the world that will give you a view like this. The cable car brings you to a viewing area just 163m below the mighty volcano’s peak, which affords incredible views across the island and beyond.
On a clear day you’ll even be able to see the other Canary Islands of La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro dotted in the sparkling blue sea!
You’ll disembark at the upper cable car station, where an other-worldly landscape of volcanoes, craters and rivers of petrified lava spreads before you.
Although the cable cars are hugely popular, you won’t have to venture far to escape the crowds. The upper cable car station is a starting point for three walking trails through Teide National Park, and as you explore it won’t be hard to imagine that you have the mountain to yourself!
The striking volcanic landscape of Teide National Park is a dream come true for nature lovers, with an explosion of vibrant flowers in the spring, and covered by a blanket of snow in the winter.
Take the sunset cable car trip and enjoy a glass of bubbly as you travel up beautiful Mount Teide!
The views from Teide are at their most spectacular at sunrise and sunset, with the shifting tones of the sky and the sunlight reflecting off the rocks.
From the cable car’s lookout terrace you’ll have the privilege of witnessing a magnificent sunset, as evening falls and the enormous shadow of the volcano projects out into the sea.
Hordes of people take the cable car to Mount Teide’s summit every day. Book this ticket to jump the queues and hop straight on!
