The Canterbury Tales

No visit to Canterbury is complete without experiencing Geoffrey Chaucer’s famous tales of medieval misadventures at one of the city’s best-loved attractions, The Canterbury Tales!

This stunning recreation of medieval life takes you back 500 years to join Chaucer - England’s finest poet - and his colourful characters as you experience the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone era.

Your adventure begins in the Tabard Inn, where a costumed guide will prepare you for a pilgrimage from London to Canterbury.

Along your journey, Chaucer’s most famous tales of love, romance, jealousy and trickery are dramatically brought to life through an audio guide – with a special version available for children!

The experience ends at the shrine of St Thomas Becket, where you’ll be met by a second costumed character!

The Canterbury Tales is the perfect introduction to Canterbury and its famous literary connection, inside the historic building of St. Margaret’s Church.
