Whale Watching & Blue Lagoon

This great combo-tour takes you wildlife and whale watching in beautiful Faxaflói Bay and to the Blue Lagoon – a unique geothermal spa set in Iceland’s youngest lava field.

Go whale watching in gorgeous Faxaflói Bay and watch for minke and humpback whales, the harbour porpoise and white-beaked dolphins which are all common sights in the waters of the bay and surrounding areas.

No need for bird-lovers to feel left out - the wildlife around the bay includes birds such as the gannet, Arctic tern, puffin and many varieties of gull.

During the tour, a knowledgeable English-speaking guide will tell you what you’re most likely to see and where to look for it.

How much you’ll see on the day of the tour depends largely on the conditions and season, but Faxaflói Bay is home to plenty of wildlife the whole year round!

Included with the tour is entry to the Whale Exhibition Center which, set in an old capelin-fishing vessel, is filled with exhibits and information about the whales and other wildlife which inhabits the Faxaflói Bay area.

Once back at the harbour, a shuttle service will take you to join the Blue Lagoon tour which departs at 1pm.

Relax and enjoy the stunning Icelandic scenery on the 50-minute journey to the Blue Lagoon, a unique geothermal spa situated in the youngest lava field in the west of the country.

Enjoy free-time exploring the spectacular surroundings of the Blue Lagoon or take part in one of the optional activities on offer which include geothermal steam baths, a stress-busting shower beneath the Blue Lagoon waterfall, bathing in the milky blue-green spa waters and more!
