It’s Official: The Shard is voted the Most Romantic View in the UK!

Valentines Day at The Shard
February 1, 2016

The View from The Shard has been awarded the title of “Most Romantic View” at the Mills & Boon Romance Awards!

As Western Europe’s highest building with spectacular views across the capital and beyond, The Shard puts London on a par with Paris’s Eiffel Tower or New York’s Empire State Building as one of the world’s iconic attractions.

London’s Most Popular Place to Propose

The sleek skyscraper has quickly become one of London’s most popular locations to pop the question; on Valentine’s Day 2015 a proposal took place on average every 30 minutes on The Shard’s 800ft-high viewing platforms!

The Shard beat these famous locations to win the coveted title of “UK’s Most Romantic View”:

  • Portmeirion – Gwynedd
  • Glastonbury Tor – Glastonbury
  • Cheddar Gorge – Somerset
  • Beachy Head – East Sussex

With viewing platforms are almost twice the height of any other vantage point in the city, The Shard is a perfect place to plan a romantic surprise, on Valentines or any other day of the year.

There are various Shard tickets to choose from, such as the Champagne Ticket which includes a crisp glass of bubbly to add an extra touch of romance to the occasion, or a Night & Day Ticket which lets you visit once during daylight hours and again as the sun goes down, meaning you get to experience the best of both worlds!
