The Blue Lagoon's geothermal seawater will not permanently damage your swimsuit. We recommend rinsing it with cold water and soap after your visit. Swimsuit hire is available for ISK 1,000 and swimsuits are also available to purchase in the Blue Lagoon shop.
Weather closures at the Blue Lagoon are extremely rare - the lagoon remains open in rain, snow, sleet, hail, and subzero temperatures. Closures only occur in the event of sustained hurricane-force winds.
Guests who prefer not to enter the water are welcome to relax at the Blue Café or explore the natural surroundings of the Blue Lagoon while their group enjoys the lagoon.
Buses depart from the BSÍ Bus Terminal in downtown Reykjavik, with the journey taking approximately 45 minutes. Hotel pick-up is also available, adding approximately 30 minutes to the journey time. If you book pick-up from the Viking Hotel/Fjörukráin, you will be picked up at the city bus stop across the street approximately 15 minutes after departure from the BSÍ bus terminal.
