This October visit the UK’s must do family Spooktacular event for Halloween. Young families can enjoy 4 live shows with song, dance and stories, our dancing flashmob of ancestors plus ride over 20 attractions at dusk!

Rides at Dusk: Alton Towers Theme Park is open until 9pm during Scarefest. Ride over 20 attractions and experience selected CBeebies Land at dusk!

House of Monsters: Join an up and coming online vlogger who has turned into somewhat of a new-age monster hunter. He is on a modern-day quest to discover the truth about monsters and his trail has led him to what is believed to be a disused house. But is it a case of mistaken identity or has he really discovered a group of 21st century ghouls? Recommended for families with children over 8.

Tower Ruins Projections: The Towers Gothic ruins are rumoured to be home to a number of supernatural forces. Do you get the feeling somebody's watching from the windows?

Alton Ancestors: The Alton Ancestors have risen from the grave once more and returned to their old stomping grounds. They can be found flashmobbing Towers Street in the morning before retiring to Gloomy Wood later on. Learn their moves and join in!

Scare Mazes at Scarefest

6-7, 13-14, 19-31 October and 1-2 November 2018 - (ALL Scare Mazes are payable locally and NOT included in your general theme park admission ticket)

Scare Mazes are not suitable for children under 15yrs

Scare Mazes, Theme Park open until 9pm for Rides in the Dark & a travelling circus of roaming characters. Scarefest is back and has more spine-tingling terrors than ever before. Our 3 multi award winning scare mazes have been re-scarified for this year and we are adding another NEW maze to the line up! Dare you join us for our most terrifying year yet?

The Welcoming - Be Chosen:  A mysterious group who worship the woods and the animals that live therein like Gods have been disturbed. Every year they host a festival to celebrate their own interpretation of Halloween - the crossing of the worlds of the living and the dead. For the first time they have allowed outsiders to celebrate with them. But what part will you (‘the outsiders’) play in this ritual? Is this really an initiation? Suitable for those aged 15+.

Sub Species - The End Games: A post-apocalyptic, sewer dwelling community have been infested by a species from another world. In order to survive, they appease the creature’s hunger by sacrificing innocent people from the surface. However, over time, insanity has twisted the feeding ritual into a sick contest. Your demise is now their entertainment. This year find your way through the underground system with new routes to take but which will you choose? Let the death race begin! Suitable for those aged 15+.

Altonville Mine Tours - Uncover the Legend of the Skin Snatchers: Altonville Mine Tours re-opens this year with an extended tour of newly discovered depths of the mine. Suitable for those aged 15+.

Project42: The Phalanx base has been compromised and the team is in demise. The test subjects have been infected and they've broken out! The Phalanx requires volunteers to enter the compound, find the vaccination and rescuse the technician! Will you make it out before contracting the infection?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GALACTICA unleashed!! Having not gone to Alton Towers for a multiple of years, my yearn for a thrill was triggered when I heard about the world’s first VR ride Galactica. I booked my tickets through Attractiontix to take advantage of the meal deal offer. Great offer to save me even more money and time, as we knew where we were eating. So, all 8 of us went to Alton Towers and the first ride we attacked was Spinball Whizzer. Nice and easy ride to warm you in. Scream rating 2/10 Next up the Oblivion. We were met with a 40-minute queue but it was totally worth the wait. No matter how many times I go on the Oblivion the drop gets me every time. Scream rating 7/10 Other rides Rita – Scream rating 5/10 Duel – Thrill rating 4/10 Congo River Rapids – Thrill rating 7/10 SkyRide – Thrill rating 6/10 Now onto the piece la resistance. This was what I personally came to Alton Towers for ‘GALACTICA!’. This ride was the main conversation point for hours after we went on it. And once you’ve taken on this universe themed rollercoaster, you’ll see that the possibilities of what could be projected seems to be endless. GALACTICA – Thrill rating 9/10 (Only reason it didn’t get a 10 is because the ride isn’t long enough)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun - even for scaredy-cats! Even though I'm a big wimp and found a lot of the rides too scary, I still had a great time here! It was easy to get in with our pre-booked tickets and by the afternoon I had even plucked up the courage to go on the new ride "Galactica", which is the world's first Virtual Reality Rollercoaster. it was AMAZING and actually felt like you were rocketing into space! My only disappointment was that we didn't get to eat at the new Rollercoaster Restaurant - where your food arrives at each table via mini rollercoasters. It was so popular that there was a 2-hour wait, so if you want to eat here make sure you book a table!! TIP: Get there as early as possible!! We went on a weekday and within half an hour of the gates opening there were already considerable queues to get in, so try to arrive before opening time to avoid the crowds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Galactica is Amazing! Great Team day out Had an amazing time on the Galactica, fantastic experience. It was out of this world :) The new Rollercoaster Restaurant is a must! your food slides down to your table. Book before you go, as its so busy there is no walk in availability. we went anti clockwise round the park and saved some queue time. More time to enjoy the rides. Overall it was a great day out with the team.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New ride Galactica is now open and simply amazing! Air was previously one of my favourite rides at Alton Towers and this year, it's been turned into the UK's first Virtual Reality ride. You put on the headset and as your body is flown around, your mind is taken on a trip to outer space! Incredible, immersive experience and I came off the ride hoping that more theme parks would take advantage of this new technology!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic day out with the kids! The main focus of the trip was to take the kids to Cbeebies Land! I must say that it was the trip of a lifetime for them (and for us to be honest), 2 weeks later and they are still talking about it. Plus, we were lucky because the weather was on our side. :) The attraction has all the main things well located which parents look for when travelling with kids (e.g toilets, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.). I definitely recommend it (but on a sunny day... of course).
