Colosseum Tour: Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
Experience Rome’s 3 most famous historical landmarks in the space of a morning or afternoon!
Choose to start your Colosseum tour at either 10am or 3pm – so you won’t miss out whether you’re an early bird or a late riser.
Led by an expert guide, you will hear the fascinating stories that bring ancient Rome to life, turning the now quiet ruins into raucous arenas and bustling marketplaces.
The Colosseum
Discover the Colosseum - Rome’s most iconic landmark! Spend over an hour delving into the gory past of this amphitheatre which was home to gladiators, mock sea-battles and executions.
Your guide will have you enthralled with stories recalling the days when the stands were packed, the crowds were roaring and a gladiator’s life hung on the whims of an emperor.
The Roman Forum
Visit the Roman Forum – home to some of the oldest and most important buildings of the era, including the old moneylender’s shop and Caesar’s Temple - the house of the Vestal Virgins.
Walk along the “Via Sacra” or “Sacred Way”, which once sparkled with festivals and triumphant processions as the Roman armies returned from war.
Palatine Hill
Standing 40 metres above the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill is the centremost of Rome’s Seven Hills. It is also a glorious viewpoint, so don’t forget to take your camera!
While you are there, learn the legend of Romulus - the great founder of Rome and see the Roman Forum and Nero’s Circus Maximus, where Roman chariot races were once held.
