Before ascending to the observation deck, you’ll take a journey back in time. You’ll be able to “touch the past”, with original artefacts and a 'beam walk' that simulates the experience of the Rockefeller Center construction workers over 70 years ago.
A high speed Summit Shuttle will then transport you to the viewing area. Before venturing out into the open air you’llhave the opportunity to watch short films and interactive displays detailing the construction of the Rockefeller Center.

- The main entrance to the Top of the Rock is located on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.
- Top of the Rock is a three level observation deck that consists of the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
- Total surface area of all the decks together is approximately 55,000 square-feet (5,110 m²). The upper deck is 850 feet (260 m) above street level.
Length of Visit:
There is no time limit as to how long you can spend on the observation decks during operating hours. The average length of stay is about 45 minutes – 1 hour.

What if I need to cancel my Top of the Rock booking?
No worries! If your plans change, you can cancel your Top of the Rock booking as long as it's more than 7 days before your scheduled visit. Inside 7 days of your visit, you will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
What should I bring for my Top of the Rock visit?
Comfortable clothes, water, and don't forget those comfy shoes for all the exploring!
What are the operating hours of Top of the Rock?
Top of open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, rain or shine! But if the weather gets too wild, some areas might close for safety.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my visit?
Tickets aren't refunded due to weather, but you can speak to the staff on-site, and they may be able to reschedule your ticket for another day, depending on availability.
When is the last elevator to the top?
You can hop on up to the top deck until 1 hour before closing time.
How long are the wait times to get in?
During peak times, the wait can be over an hour, but trust us, it's worth it!
How do I get to Top of the Rock?
Head to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, between 5th and 6th Avenues. If you're subway-bound, the 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr Station is your go-to stop.
Is Top of the Rock accessible for everyone?
Absolutely! Top of the Rock is wheelchair-friendly, stroller-friendly, and service animal-friendly. Plus, there are printed transcripts and audio headsets available upon request.
Is there parking available?
You bet! Convenient parking awaits at 53 West 48th Street, just a skip away from Rockefeller Center.
