From the twisting climbs and drops of Krakatau Aqua Coaster to the near-vertical fall of Ko'okiri Body Plunge and the sweeping raft rides of Honu ika Moana, every attraction pulls its energy straight from the volcano — water, light, and motion combining into something that feels wild but never chaotic.
The whole island runs on tropical rhythm - golden sand, swaying palms, and shimmering water lining every path you take. One minute you're rushing through the volcano's core, the next you're floating past waterfalls or settling in at Waturi Beach, where the island's warmth and water bring everything full circle.
Universal Volcano Bay, is currently scheduled to begin a maintenance closure on October 26, 2026, now has an updated planned reopening on or before April 1, 2027. Dates are subject to change; please check here for updates.

Universal Volcano Bay draws on a fictional Waturi island mythology, shaped by real Polynesian and South Pacific cultural influences. Its towering centrepiece, Krakatau, borrows its name from the real Krakatoa volcano in Indonesia — famous for its 1883 eruption — though the park's storyline and characters are entirely Universal's own creation.
Getting to Universal Volcano Bay is simple, even though it stands apart from the rest of the resort with its own dedicated entrance - you won't pass through Universal CityWalk Orlando to reach it.
Free shuttle buses run continuously between Universal Volcano Bay and the Universal Orlando parking hub.
Every Universal hotel offers direct shuttle transport to Universal Volcano Bay.
Walking access is available from Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal Aventura Hotel.
Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft have designated drop-off points at the dedicated Universal Volcano Bay entrance.
Please note: Universal Epic Universe sits in its own separate resort district and can't be reached on foot from Universal Volcano Bay, Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, or Universal CityWalk. Guests headed to Universal Epic Universe will use its own dedicated entrance and parking.
