The Tour:

Your tour begins at the Danilowicz Shaft, where you will meet your expert guide before descending 380 steps to the first level of the mine, situated 64 metres underground. Over the next two hours, your guide will lead you through over 2 kilometres of meandering corridors and some 800 steps in total, revealing the extraordinary history, stories, and secrets of the Wieliczka Salt Mine at every turn.

The designated meeting point is the coach stop adjacent to Krakow Main Post Office, located at Ul. Wielopole 2, Krakow. The tour ends at the same meeting point.

  • Your booking is on request and will be confirmed within 48 working hours. If the supplier is unable to fulfil your requested date, you will be contacted within this period with an alternative. If you do not hear back within 48 working hours, your booking will be confirmed for your requested date. Please refrain from booking flights or accommodation until your booking has been confirmed.

  • The exact tour time and pick-up time is subject to availability at the mine and will be confirmed up to one day before your tour date. It is the responsibility of all visitors to be at the meeting point at the confirmed time. Guests arriving after departure cannot be accommodated and missed tours or tickets cannot be refunded.

  • The guided tour inside the mine is approximately 2 hours long. The full experience including travel lasts approximately 3-4 hours.

  • The tour involves a large amount of walking, uneven ground, and approximately 800 steps. Visitors descend approximately 380 steps to Level I at 64 metres underground. The return to the surface is by lift from Level III at 135 metres. Comfortable shoes are strongly recommended.

  • The air temperature inside the mine is approximately 14-16 degrees Celsius throughout the year. Please bring warm clothing such as a sweater or jacket.

  • Luggage is not permitted inside the mine with the exception of hand baggage not exceeding 35cm x 20cm x 20cm.

  • Baby strollers must be left on the bus and cannot be taken into the mine.

  • This tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for visitors suffering from claustrophobia. All customers with special needs are kindly asked to enquire about private tour availability before booking.

  • Child and Student tickets are available for visitors aged 5-25. Student tickets for those aged 18-25 require a valid student ID.
