Enjoy a day at Reykjavik’s best SPA!

Treat yourself to a relaxing day at the Blue Lagoon – voted #1 SPA in Reykjavik by TripAdvisor! Situated in the youngest lava field in west Iceland, the Blue Lagoon definitely offers a view to die for.

We’ll arrange your transport there & back from Reykjavik, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy a good soak in the geothermal water.

Things you can do at the Blue Lagoon for FREE

  • Experience the rejuvenating power of geothermal water – Feel the healing powers of the minerals-filled water work their magic on you and let all your worries drift away
  • Take a warm bath surrounded by ice -  The water temperature is between 37-40°C (98-104°F), so you can enjoy the ice-covered scenery from the pool without worrying about the cold
  • Pamper your skin with a silica mud mask – If you’ve seen photos of the Blue Lagoon, you’re bound to have come across a ton of people relaxing in the water with a white face mask on. This is the silica mud mask. You’ll find a bucket of it sitting by the pool - just help yourself!
  • Enjoy sauna with a view – Carved in lava rock and overlooking a stunning icy scenery, the sauna & steam rooms at the Blue Lagoon are the perfect place to chill out
  • Shower in a waterfall – The Blue Lagoon’s man-made waterfall is a delight for sore shoulders and stiff muscles. Feels like heaven after an extreme Iceland tour!
  • Take a break in the relaxation area – Feel like getting out of the water for a bit? Take a seat in the comfy relaxation area next to the changing rooms, stretch your legs and soak in the gorgeous view of the lagoon

Fun Fact - the water’s not actually blue!

That’s right - the dark blue-green colour you see is nothing more than the reflection of the water’s 3 core ingredients - Silica, Algae & minerals, in the sunlight.

Finding it hard to believe? Just scoop some water from the Blue Lagoon in a plastic cup and see for yourself!

More freebies in 2018!

Let’s sweeten the deal! As of 1st March 2018, towel hire, 1 free drink, Silica Mud Mask and Algae Mask are also included with your ticket.

AM or PM trip?

Fancy getting there early, or rather sleep in late? Enjoy a day at your own pace - hotel transfers are available both in the morning and in the afternoon.

Stay as long as you like!

Once you are at the Blue Lagoon, you can stay, as long as you like. Shuttles run from the Blue Lagoon to Reykjavik regularly up until 10pm.

  • Blue Lagoon is undergoing an exciting expansion which will be completed in 2018. Therefore, as you book your visit, please be aware that there is ongoing construction in some of the areas surrounding the lagoon. For more information, see separate tab.

Blue Lagoon has embarked on an expansion that includes a redesign and enlargement of the main lagoon, as well as the construction of a retreat encompassing an underground spa, 62 elegant guest suites, and a restaurant.

Located in the lava field west of the lagoon, the work area is within view of the main spa.  The sights and sounds of construction equipment are a reality of visiting the Blue Lagoon during the months of our expansion.  But we aim to minimize the impact of this work on the experiences of our guests.

The project is scheduled to be completed in phases and will be finished in the first half of 2018.

The goal of the lagoon expansion is to enhance the experience of each guest. The goal of the retreat is to create a place where nature, design, and hospitality become one, opening the door to an unparalleled journey of relaxation, rejuvenation, and exploration.

Design and Architecture:  Sigridur Sigthorsdottir of Basalt Architects is the project’s lead architect.  She has worked with Blue Lagoon for almost two decades and is the architect of all Blue Lagoon facilities.

Ms. Sigthorsdottir’s work has been recognized both domestically and internationally for the manner in which it achieves unity with the natural environment: the forms of nature merge with the forms of man.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magical experience! The Blue Lagoon spa is truly magical, relaxing, and miraculous experience- you’re bathing in one of the natural wonders of the world! The face masks were an extra special treat, but the best thing was being lucky enough to see the Northern lights while we were outside which just decided to appear! Our ticket allowed us to stay for as long as we wanted and there are plenty of things to do, we spent time in the steam room, the sauna and stood under the man-made waterfall. The water is a comfortable temperature and the shower facilities are clean and modern, a fantastic experience!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Blue Lagoon at Night The Blue Lagoon is very popular (even in winter), so make sure you book your tickets early! We booked fairly last minute so there were only afternoon timeslots available for the day we wanted to go. We were given a pick up time of 4.30pm, to arrive at the Lagoon by 6pm. We phoned the tour operator once we arrived in Reykjavik to confirm our transport. A mini bus picked us up from our guesthouse and dropped us off at the main Bus Terminal, where we exchanged our e-ticket and boarded the coach to The Blue Lagoon. The Lagoon is around a 45 minute drive from Reykjavik, so by the time we arrived it was getting dark. We were a little disappointed as we couldn’t get many good photos, however the Northern Lights showed up in the sky while we were there, so in the end I was glad we visited in the evening! In total we spent just over 2 hours at The Lagoon. The water is naturally heated to around 40 degrees, so you basically feel like you're in a relaxing warm bath. The coaches back to Reykjavik leave every hour or so (I think the last coach was at 10 or 11pm), so you can pretty much spend as much time as you like there.
