We Tried the Iceland Ultimate Pass & Sky Lagoon – Here’s Everything You Need to Know
I’m James, Digital Designer at AttractionTix, and alongside Shaun, our Digital Marketing Manager, we went all in on the Iceland Ultimate Experience Pass and Sky Lagoon Passes. From smooth transfers and must-do tours to Iceland’s top experiences, we tried it all – and we’re sharing exactly what our AttractionTix customers can expect when they book.
A smooth start with Flybus PLUS
We arrived in Iceland bright and early and were picked up by the Flybus Airport Transfer, included with the Iceland Ultimate Experience Pass. The bus took us straight to the nearest drop-off point in Reykjavik – just a five-minute walk from where we were staying. The journey took around 45 minutes, and the buses even had USB charging points, making it a comfortable and convenient start to our adventure. The Ultimate pass also includes the return back to airport from the closest pickup point to your hotel.
Relaxing at Sky Lagoon at Sunrise, Iceland
We started our trip at Sky Lagoon — and instantly fell in love with the place.
We went for the Sky Pass (requires a separate ticket, not included in the Ultimate Pass) which includes:
✅ Return transfers to pick-up points and select hotels
✅ Private changing rooms
✅ Towels & Soaps
✅ And the 7-step Skjol Ritual

Walking out into the lagoon for the first time was insane. Steam rising off the water, lava rock all around you, and the ocean stretching out in front of you. We went at sunrise and the light over the water made the whole place look surreal.
We grabbed a drink from the in-water Gelmir Bar, which is built into the rocks. You can get beers, cocktails and mocktails while standing in the lagoon. You use your wristband to tap and pay, then settle up when you leave – super easy. You are limited to three alcoholic drinks, but when you’re floating in warm water with that view, you do not need more than that.
The Skjól 7-Step Ritual
This was an incredible experience that you 100% do not want to miss. It starts with a cold plunge, which definitely woke us both up after an early start, then into a stunning sauna with glass windows looking straight out over the sea. Next, step into the cold mist room, indulge in a body scrub, relax in the steam room, and end with a refreshing Icelandic drink crafted from local crowberries. After you’ve completed the 7-steps, you can go back into the Lagoon for seconds!
After 3 hours of relaxation in the Sky Lagoon and the 7-Step ritual, we felt completely reset. Easily one of the best things we did all trip.
Hunting the Northern Lights in Iceland
After our Sky Lagoon experience and a bite to eat in Reykavik, we were picked up around 9pm for our Northern Lights tour, which was included in the Iceland Ultimate Experience Pass and lasts around 3.5 hours. As we drove out of the city, our guide explained what causes the aurora and how lucky you have to be to see it.
It’s a waiting game for the lights to appear, so make sure you are fully layered up ready to take on the cold conditions! You can also get back onto the coach to warm back up if you need to. The lights are never guaranteed, but if you don’t see them, Icelandia let you go again another night for free.
Luckily for us, after about two hours the sky lit up. Green waves moving across the sky, changing shape, getting brighter and fading away. It was unreal, and definitely a bucket list moment for the both of us.
Our Golden Circle Tour Highlights
The next morning we were picked up early for the Golden Circle tour, which lasted about 6 and a half hours. Our guide was great and kept us entertained the whole way.
Thingvellir National Park
First stop on the golden circle was Thingvellir, with huge open landscapes and views across Iceland. We also grabbed a quick coffee here to warm up and take in the incredible views.
Geysir Geothermal Park
Next up, we stopped at Geysir to see Strokkur in action, erupting every few minutes like clockwork. No matter how many times it happens, watching boiling water blast into the air is still impressive. This was also our lunch stop, with burgers, fries, sandwiches and hot drinks available – or you can bring your own if you prefer.
Gullfoss Waterfall
Before we headed back to Reykjavik, finished our tour at Gullfoss and it’s unreal. Standing that close as huge amounts of water crash away below you is something you don’t forget. It’s also very windy here, so wrap up warm. There are loads of viewing points, making it an ideal spot to grab that Instagram photo.
Blue Lagoon Comfort Package
Last on our pass was the Blue Lagoon Comfort Package, again with transfers included.
When you arrive, you get a wristband for drinks and extras, just like Sky Lagoon. You tap it to order at the bar and then pay when you exit. You can have up to three alcoholic drinks and as many non-alcoholic ones as you want. We did the classic silica mud mask and checked out the steam room at the back of the lagoon.
Visiting at night was a great experience, with the steam and lighting giving it a completely different atmosphere. If we were to do it again, we’d probably book just before sunset – you get to see it in daylight first, then watch it change as it gets dark.
Why we’d recommend the Iceland Ultimate Experience Pass
The best part was how easy it all was. Every tour picked us up near our accommodation, so there were no taxis to organise and no time wasted travelling.
The Iceland Ultimate Experience Pass includes:
✅ Flybus PLUS airport transfers to and from Reykavik
✅ Northern Lights tour
✅ Golden Circle tour
✅ Blue Lagoon Comfort admission
And for everything that’s included, it offers excellent value and we couldn’t recommend it to our AttractionTix customers enough.
Iceland Travel Tips: What to Know Before You Go
⏰ Get to your pick-up point early – tours run on time and it makes the start of the day stress-free
🧥 Layer up, especially for the Golden Circle and Northern Lights – it gets cold fast
🚕 Taxis are very expensive, so booking a pass with transfers included can save you a lot
🌊 If you have time, we’d definitely recommend Sky Lagoon – it’s genuinely something special and worth adding to your Iceland trip.
Iceland gave us hot lagoons, frozen landscapes, massive waterfalls and glowing skies – all in one trip. If you’re thinking about going, the Iceland Ultimate Experience pass makes it so easy and lets you focus on an incredible trip!
