Alton Towers Rides and Attractions:

Alton Towers Resort offers a mind-blowing mix of fantastic rides and attractions offering fun for all ages.

Explore the hidden shipwreck at Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE, feel the speed of Rita, and enjoy the turbulent, twisting frenzy of Nemesis.

Thirteen

Thirteen is based on the discovery of an unearthed ancient burial site in an unexplored woodland area in Alton Towers Resort known as the Dark Forest.

Dare to take a petrifying ride on Thirteen, venturing into the seemingly living and breathing Dark Forest. There you will face an unknown horror that has been unleashed from the ancient crypt deep beneath Alton Towers Resort.

The ride combines the ultimate elements of physical and psychological fear - to create what experts are dubbing a 'psychoaster'.

Cloud Cuckoo Land

Cloud Cuckoo Land, complete with live entertainment, an amazing combination of indoor soft play activities and a fantastic range of rides and attractions for the tiniest of tots.

Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE

Join Captain Black and explore the hidden capsule of Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE, where you will come face to face with a myriad of fascinating creatures.

Ice Age Cinema

Located in the Cloud Cuckoo Land Theatre, this attraction is based on the third movie in the blockbuster series and combines 3-D footage with breathtaking physical effects including icy blasts, snow and bubbles. Fans will also be able to meet and greet with the “Ice Age” characters Sid and Scrat around the Alton Towers Resort.

Nemesis Sub-Terra

This psychologically and physically thrilling experience takes place in a dark, intense underground setting which is based around the story of the original Nemesis ride, which opened in 1994.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic day out with the kids! The main focus of the trip was to take the kids to Cbeebies Land! I must say that it was the trip of a lifetime for them (and for us to be honest), 2 weeks later and they are still talking about it. Plus, we were lucky because the weather was on our side. :) The attraction has all the main things well located which parents look for when travelling with kids (e.g toilets, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.). I definitely recommend it (but on a sunny day... of course).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No fireworks at Halloween but had fun anyway Went for fireworks at Halloween as I've been in previous years but was disappointed that there weren't any until bonfire night. Despite that we had lots of fun on the big rides and enjoyed the decorations and the general atmosphere. For those who have never been, Alton Towers has a huge number of rides so you need to pick your battles as queues can be anywhere between 20mins to 2hrs for Nemesis, 13, Air and Oblivion. As it was the last few weeks of the season, the park was open til 9pm so we got to do some rides in the dark which was a new dimension of fun!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from staff not that friendly or welcoming to park it was great as the park was quiet and the children got to go on lots of rides with minimal waiting. the level of service in various places was less than standard and dampened the two days . on arrival the express car park attendant was acting like he did not want to be there and was quite unhelpful - the man on the ticket desk was not enraging into my questions at all - hot dog hut near air , was always understaffed and they could not cope with a small queue . the burger kitchen was a joke as far as service goes , there were plenty of people there but did not seem to know what was going on , people standing at the tills but could not serve us - it was very quiet and not what I would expect from a fast food outlet ! I feel disappointed to have spent £177 on tickets and two days of express parking to have a mediocre experience . I think a focus needs to go on service as the park is vey quiet and they should look after the guests they have coming in

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Theme Park Alton Towers is one of my all-time favourite theme parks - I've been almost every year since I was little and it’s always a great day out! My personal favourite rides are Air, Oblivion and most recently The Smiler - although Rita is also pretty good! Food-wise there’s plenty of restaurants and snack places where you can grab a bite to eat. We've found the Pizza Pasta Buffet (next to the Runaway Mine Train) is really good value, and you can time it with a ride on the Rapids so you can dry off while you eat :) As with most theme parks the queues can get quite busy (especially in the school holidays) however there are noticeboards around the Park letting you know an estimate wait time for each ride, which are really useful for planning your day.
