The Smiler

The world’s first 14 looping rollercoaster is now open at Alton Towers Resort!

Not for the faint hearted, The Smiler features a series of twisted psychological effects, with optical illusions and blinding lights designed to mess with your mind...

Thirteen is based on the discovery of an unearthed ancient burial site in an unexplored woodland area in Alton Towers known as the Dark Forest.

Dare to take a petrifying ride on Thirteen, venturing into the seemingly living and breathing Dark Forest. There you will face an unknown horror that has been unleashed from the ancient crypt deep beneath Alton Towers.

The ride combines the ultimate elements of physical and psychological fear - to create what experts are dubbing a 'psychoaster'.

Cloud Cuckoo Land

Cloud Cuckoo Land, complete with live entertainment, an amazing combination of indoor soft play activities and a fantastic range of rides and attractions for the tiniest of tots.

Sharkbait Reef by Sea Life

Join Captain Black and explore the new hidden capsule of Sharkbait Reef by Sea Life, where you will come face to face with a myriad of fascinating creatures.

Ice Age Cinema

Located in the Cloud Cuckoo Land Theatre, this attraction is based on the third movie in the blockbuster series and combines 3-D footage with breathtaking physical effects including icy blasts, snow and bubbles. Fans will also be able to meet and greet with the “Ice Age” characters Sid and Scrat around the Alton Towers Resort.

Nemesis Sub-Terra

This psychologically and physically thrilling experience takes place in a dark, intense underground setting which is based around the story of the original Nemesis ride, which opened in 1994.
