Full Details

This Chichen Itza tour is the only tour with access to the Mayaland Hotel which boasts its own entrance to the archaeological site.

Founded in 514AD, Chichen Itza was once the capital of an ancient Mayan civilisation.

This important archaeological site is steeped in a mystical history of human sacrifice, a powerful warrior culture, astrological study and discovery and fierce rituals.

You’ll arrive at the Mayaland Hotel and head directly to the archaeological site* where a guide will explain the historical significance of the sites most important temples.

After your Chichen Itza tour, you are free to explore the site at your own place, taking in the wealth of Maya-Toltec remains which include the Nunnery, Pyramid of Kukulcan, the Ball Court, Observatory, Temple of the Warriors and many other smaller beautifully preserved temples.

When you are ready, walk back through to the Mayaland Resort for a delicious buffet lunch of typical Yucatan dishes including chicken, fish and beef along with hamburgers and a salad bar.

You’ll be accompanied throughout lunch by traditional Yucatan music and dance by the talented Mayaland regional ballet.

Following lunch you’ll have free time to re-visit the archaeological site, or enjoy the Mayaland Hotel resort facilities where you can take a dip in the pool, relax in a lounge chair or enjoy a walk in the hotel’s lush tropical gardens.

* Admission fee for the archaeological site in Chichen Itza is not included in the price and will be payable upon entrance (approx. £10 for adults and £3 for children 3-13 years).

Chichen Itza Deluxe Tour is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Place We visited Chichen Itza from Riviera Maya and were picked up and taken to the site by a wonderful tour guide Mauricio. A local man with Mayan Ancestory, he explained to us all about the history of Chichen Itza and how it was designed with the sun at the heart of it. Incredible it was built over a thousand years ago and how much they knew. We got to eat at a hotel near by and this amazing local mexican food was a highlight (they had more western options available). We stayed on for the light and sound show at the end, but as this wasn't in English found it a bit hard to follow. Still spectacular. A long day but definitely worth leaving the hotel for!!
