St Paul’s Cathedral tickets

A sightseeing trip to London just isn’t complete without a visit to the world-famous St Paul's Cathedral!

The perfect addition to a day or weekend in London, St. Paul’s is easy to get to, sitting on the north bank of the River Thames.

Its unmistakable dome is an iconic feature of the London skyline, and is one of the largest Cathedral domes in the world. Don’t miss the fabulous views of London from the Golden Gallery on top of the dome!

Anyone who loved the childhood film Mary Poppins will definitely want to see the location of the “Feed the Birds” scenes, where the Bird Woman sings to passers-by as she sells bags of breadcrumbs to feed the throngs of pigeons on the cathedral steps.

Explore at your own pace with a multimedia guide included in your ticket, or join in one of the many guided tours that take place every day.

Inside the cathedral, must-see areas include the Whispering, Stone and Golden Galleries, as well as the cathedral floor, the glittering mosaics, intricate stone carvings and breathtaking vantage points.

Don’t forget to visit the crypt, where many famous Brits are buried including Admiral Nelson and the Duke of Wellington.

Many of the cathedral’s original features still survive to this day; Jean Tijou’s beautiful wrought iron gates of 1700 still separate the quire from the ambulatory; children still test the acoustics in the Whispering Gallery; and the 1695 organ which Mendelssohn once played is still in use.

Important: Refurbishment in 2016

Please note that St Paul’s Cathedral is undergoing refurbishment from January – Autumn 2016. During this time:

  • The cathedral shop will move temporarily into the area housing the Oculus film experience.
  • The Oculus film experience will be closed and will reopen after the shop refurbishment finishes (scheduled to be just before Easter 2016).
  • The Restaurant at St Paul’s will be closed and will reopen at the end of the refurbishment work in Autumn 2016.
  • The cathedral toilets will be closed from the end of January until autumn 2016. The nearest public toilets are located just to the North of the cathedral in the Temple Bar, and to the East in One New Change shopping centre. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great views Having visited London many times we had never been in cathedral. The architecture is amazing and if you take the time to walk to the whispering gallery and then on to the top the views are stunning. Audio guides are very good too.
