Tangier Ferry & Tour - Incl Lunch – Full Details

Please Note: This tour will differ slightly depending on whether it’s taken during the summer or winter season.

Tangier Ferry & Tour - Incl Lunch - Summer:

Relax and enjoy the scenic drive along the coastal road of the Costa del Sol to Tarifa. Here you’ll board the high-speed Tangier ferry and cross the Strait of Gibraltar to Morocco and a different continent - mainland Africa.

Accompanied by your guide, enjoy a walking tour of vibrant, colourful Tangier during which you’ll visit a souk with vendors offering goods from exotic, fragrant spices and hand-hewn silver to carpets, fruit and local vegetables.

You’ll also have the chance to visit the jewellery quarter where you’ll hear what it takes to arrange a traditional Moroccan wedding.

The Medina (Old Town) and the Kasbah (old fortress) is your next destination, before moving on to a local bakery to try a sample of fragrant, freshly baked bread.

After watching a snake charmer perform his age-old magic, relax and indulge in a delicious lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant (included).

Following lunch, you’ll visit a local bazaar and take a coach sightseeing tour along the coastal road into the Italian, American, Spanish and Portuguese quarters of Tangier.

You’ll also see the Royal Palace and make a stop at the Punico Roman necropolis which offers magnificent views over the Strait of Gibraltar and surrounding countryside.

This action-packed tour continues with a stop at the point where the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean meet, the Cape Spartel, where you can sip a refreshing cup of mint tea and learn about the ritual behind this traditional refreshment before visiting Hercules Caves.

Keep your camera handy for a photo-opportunity at nearby dunes where you can take an optional camel ride before beginning the return journey which takes you through the most exclusive and poorest neighbourhoods in Tangier, offering a fascinating insight into how the two live side-by-side.

Finally, enjoy the ride back across the Strait of Gibraltar on the Tangier ferry which’ll take you back to the ferry port for the coach journey back to the Costa del Sol.

Tangier Ferry & Tour - Incl Lunch - Winter:

Travel across the Strait of Gibraltar on the Tangier ferry and upon arrival enjoy a panoramic coach tour which takes you through the American, Italian, French and Spanish quarters of this diverse, cosmopolitan city.

No visit to Morocco is complete with at least one photo of camels – so keep your camera handy for a short photo-stop at the dromedaries – a sight you won’t want to miss!

Enjoy a walking tour of the Medina (old town) and the Kasbah (old fortress) next, and stop for a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant where you’ll be entertained with live Moroccan music!

Back on the streets of Tangier, watch in awe as a snake-charmer charms with his age-old skills, see traditional Moroccan handicrafts at the bazaar, watch a demonstration on how carpets are made and breath in the heady, exotic aromas of a spice shop!

This full-on, fast-paced tour ends with the crossing back to Spain on the Tangier ferry from where you’ll be safely taken back to the Costa del Sol.
