Zakopane and Tatra Mountains
Zakopane and Tatra Mountains
This guided day trip takes you from Krakow to Zakopane, a beautiful town nestled at the foot of Poland’s Tatra Mountains
Known as “the winter sports capital of Poland”, Zakopane is one of the country’s most famous resorts, attracting around 3 million tourists every year.
In the summer, its mountain lakes, glacial valleys and waterfalls are perfect for hiking, and the winter months see plenty of snow for skiers.
Arriving at Zakopane, you’ll take a ride up the funicular railway to the peak of Mt. Gubalówka, where you’ll have stunning views of the Tatra Mountains.
It’s easy to fall in love with this picturesque town, with its monuments of rustic wooden architecture built in a special regional style. You’ll see the old churches and wooden cottages of mountaineers from years gone by as well as traditional clothing and jewellery.
Experience what life is like in Zakopane as you explore central mall, with its restaurants, cafes, boutiques and souvenir shops.
You’ll also visit the Tatra Museum and the old wooden village of Chocholów on the journey back to Krakow
The tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows all about this beautiful area, and will tell you all kinds of stories as well as answering any questions.
Important: Lunch is not included with this tour but you will have a lunch break during the tour.
